My MTC District

Can't believe the girls are going home already!!!

You have to Speak Korean for this Pic

This picture you have to speak korean. it is supposed to say city 부동산 which is a real estate agent. but in korean it says 시티 which...put it into google translate and press the pronounce button. ;) haha

Food When We Were at 허병석's House

Some cool ornaments hanging.

November 23, 2014

Yeah pretty cool right? Um I'm not sure. It all depends on the week. This week we had like 3 to 3 different people. Like sit down lessons. Our progressing investigator was super sick so we couldn't meet him all week. That was super sad. But it's okay. Haha i'm glad you liked those videos. Those pics of the funeral were so sad. Jeez. That's like the saddest thing ever. Good thing that we have the good ol' plan of salvation right? Okay so I have to tell you guys something. We had transfer calls yesterday morning and one of the 봉천 Bongchun elders got transfered to the office so he had to leave that day. So! Yesterday I came here and am now sort of companions with Elder Morgan until Wednesday. So that's suepr funny that you met his mom haha. love that. How was meeting Elder Dayley's mom? Super fun? Haha i'm excited for that package! I got your package this week! The beatles shirt was super cool! I'm a big fan! haha thanks for that. The slippers also came in handy. My feet were nice and toasty. :) haha alright so this week was pretty decent!

MOnday was fun. After email we decided to go to 강남 gangnam. SO that was super super fun. IT's only like a 15 minute subway ride from our area. Super super close so we wanted to go before transfers. anyway, we went to taco bell for lunch which was delicious and then we went and took pics by the gangnam style sign. That was way fun and super cool. That are is mind blowing. We then went to the nicest nike store ever. That was crazy. It was 3 floors, the bottom floor was a basketball court, the middle one was dedicated to running and had 2 treadmills for you to try your running shoes out on before you buy them and the top one was for soccer. it had a press thing so that when you buy your jersey you can customize it right there. The technology was also crazy. They had a box that was just glass or something and a shoe inside and it was like tv on the glass. it was super cool. hard to explain. but yeah. Elder Dayley bought a korean team soccer jersey there, its super nice. Also, super expensive. haha but oh well. Worth it. He got his name and number on it. so way cool. then we went home and relaxed for a little, then we had a lesson with a new investigator named Louis. he's a cool guy. He lived in brazil for 23 years. kinda weird but pretty cool. just wants to study english but we made sure he knew why we were here and was impressed by that. So yeah!

Tuesday was okay. We had 3 appointments but they all cancelled. so itw as okay. We had our studies and lunch and then we fixed our water heater finally. Our showers haven't been like cold but they haven't been warm either haha super annoying but i finally fixed it. :) heck yeah. THen we went out and walked around to a cool area and talked to a nice old man and yeah! He was cool. then we went to the han river and took some pics and thne we came home and had dinner. then elder dayley decided that we needed to work on our records cuz we have like 50,000 haha so we organized them a lot better and organized our records for the rest of the day.

Wednesday was super good we had our studies and then we had district meeting. That was super super good. wow. we talked all about jesus the whole time which was awesome. We watched special witnesses of christ! So good. If you haven't seen it, i highly recommend it. It was filmed in 2000 and is the apostles bearing their testimonies on christ. super powerful. BUt yeah we watched that and it was way good. and then we like shared our testimonies about christ and just the church in general. wow it was powerful. Super good. The scripture i shared was alma 32:27 which says  "But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words." Anyway, the reason being that i feel like often i am at the point of desiring to believe. but i work through it and its okay. :) So hey. yeah there's a little piece of me for ya. after taht we came home and had dinner then got ready for english class and had english class! That was aweosme! It was super fun! But not too much happened. after that we came home and called people.

Thursday was pretty warm! So that was awesome. we got up and had our studies which were good. then we had lunch and made some phonecalls and then we left and went to the park. There are tons of old people there all the time just like dancin with each other. it's adorable. anyway, that was suepr fun. haha we talked to some people there and yeah. then we came home and had dinner at a place near our house. chinese food. super good! The guy there loves us so he gives us some free stuff when we go in. Nothin too big but like apples and stuff. super nice. love him. anyway, after taht we went to find a bunch of less actives but couldn't find anyone. then we went to meet a member for a practice lesson which went super good! I realized what i need to do when i teach cuz he was actually honest not like all of the other members who are like oh you guys did great. but yeah so it was uper helpful. after that we came home!

Friday was good! We got up and had personal and companion study then we had to go to the mission home for evaluations. it's like 45 minutes from us by subway. so not too far. we were able to meet the new office couple, cuz the old one is going home soon. and also talk to president and sister morrise. so we had evaluations with elder thompson the current AP. if you remember Elder nemelka from when i was serving in hwagok he is now the ap. haha super crazy. i can't believe that. i totally called it too. anyway, we taught elder thompson about baptism, the restoration and yeah! It went good! We had like 2 minutes to prepare. elder dayley did a really good job. i love that guy. he's the cutest. haha mom you need to tell me more about meeting his mom. all you did was send the picture. anyway, after taht wae came home and had lunch and some ghetto buffet place and then we had weekly planning and then we went to 허병석 ho byungsuck's house for our weekly coordination meeting. we had dinner with him then with our new ward mission leader park soonchor. that was super fun. he has tons of great ideas. we'll see what happnes. but yeah that was our day.

Saturday was pretty good. we got up and went straight to the church to play soccer. that was super fun. elder dayley wore his nice new korea jersey. there were like 20 people there. so for playing at the church it was pretty small but it 3was okay. :) haha so we played soccer and that took a while then we had some kimbap which is like korean sushi sort of. some of you might know what it is. but yeah. anyway, then we went home got ready for the day then went to the church to meet 강진오 kang jeenoh. he's a new investigator who was a referall from a member a while ago. he is super cool. we basically did how to begin teaching with him, which basically means we told him why we are here and what he can expect from meeting us. he seems pretty good. like he wants to know if god exists and to get over a few habits that he has that he really enjoys haha so we'll see if we can help him with that. so we taught him and thenwe went to meet a japanese guy who wants to learn english. that was interesting. he was super nice. his name is kenzie. we met him and did the same thing with him but he wants the missionaries to visit his house and since he lives across the river we wont' be able to do that. so we had to refer him to the seoul mission. :( but yeah. then we came home and had our studies and had dinner and went out to find less actives sbut that's cool. and then we came home!

Yesterday we woke up and got our transfer calls! I am going to be companions with Elder Smith who was in Elder Dayley's district at the MTC and also, he is elder warnicks child. Elder Warnick if you remember him was my first commpanion in hwagok. should be super fun. i'm super excited. elder dayley is going to suwon a place called 곡반정 gokbanjung. should be pretty awesome. i like that area a lot. he's going to like it. but yeah. that was that stress. anyway, then the rest of the day was crazy. we had personal study and then we went to church which was fine. suepr fun. i love church. elder dayley and elder dent are elaving so they gave goodbye talks. that was cool. and our recent convert was there so that was awesome. but yeah after church i got the call telling me to get down there before 5 o clock. so that was stress. and then the bishops wife invited us over for lunch and thatw as beyond delicious but took up a lot of time. so then after we had lunch over there we ran home and i packed my stuff for 3 days until wednesday and then i came down to 봉천 bongchun! haha it's been a crazy 24 hours. after i got here elder johnson had to finish packing and then we went and met a guy named 김정훈. he was baptized saturday but is already back to his habit of smoking and drinking. so that's not good. haha he was baptized in seoul mission somewhere and the bongchun elders found him. super crazy. he told us about how unhappy and miserable his life was. it was super sad. man we are spoiled in america. ah anyway, i don't wanna talk about sad things. so yeah! After that we came home and called it a day! that was our week! Pretty great right?! Haha it was fun. I'm sad that elder dayley is already gone from me...but its okay. we'll see each other on wednesday. i'm excited for this next transfer with elder smith. should be great. he's from arizona i think? I can't remember. i've talked to him a few times. we're gonna have fun. :) alrighty you guys have a great week! I love you!!!

NOVEMBER 16, 2014

Dad and jace are at the football game? That's awesome. :) Yeah I can't believe that david passed away. That's unreal. Here let me teach you something cool about korean. There is an honorfied way to say someone died just like how we say they passed away in english. It's 돌아가시다. (Dorakashida). the root word means to return. So when you die you return to where you came from. Cool huh? :) SO that's some little insight for ya. That's super awesome that savannah is gonna play the harp at his funeral too! THat'll be way good. :) Yeah it's super sad. Like to be honest i don't even know what to say....super sad. :( Our new investigator? He's good! He's progressing. Wait haha what do you mean to meet some of the moms from my mission? Have you been lookin em up? haha hey thanks for sending a package! :) I can't wait to get it!^^ Okay so our week.

Monday was awesome. After emailing you guys, we went to 영등포 Youngdeungpo to meet up with all of the people i was in the mtc with because the sisters go home in like 2 weeks. Super crazy. It was super fun though. We inda just got together and talked about our missions up to his point. Crazy that its' been almost a year and a half. I feel like i just started. But at the same time it feels like a long time. It's weird. :) but its okay. So we talked and it was way fun. Ate pizza. THen we came back and went and met bong and talked to him for a while. He's the best. We were able to share a scripture and teach him about happiness and i think he is a little interested. :) So we are hoping to get him more interested by sharing more and more stuff this week. We'll see what happens though. Anyway after that we came home!

Tuesday was pepero day! I don't know if you know what they are, but i sent a picture with some pepero so you'll see. It's like valentines day in korea. Boyfriends buy their girlfriends pepero and give it to em. But they buy like huge packages of it that's like 25 bucks sometimes haha it's pretty cool. I like it. I was on splits with elder dent so i sent a bunch of pics from that. that was fun. :) Haha we went and took cookies to a less active family after lunch. the dad used to be int he bishopric. Super sad that they're less active. apparently the mom was offended by a member of the ward or something and the dad heard something about joseph smith. By the way is there something that came out about like polygamy and joseph smith? I heard something but i'm not sure. anyway, so we did that and went to find less actives which we found out that two moved! So that was awesome! but yeah that took a while. Oh my gosh haha we saw a guy who didn't have one eye. it was crazy. Super crazy. but yeah that was weird. Haha then after that we came home had dinner and then had our lesson with 신재직 who is our investigator! He's progressing he's reading! So heck yeah. :) Haha so we taught him the great apostasy, the restoration, book of mormon and the holy ghost. that was awesome. i love it. he accepted it and seemed to understand priesthood well so i think he should be good. he jsut needs to do his part and read Now! but yeah! He said he would give it a shot so we'll see tomorrow!

Wednesday we got up and had studies then we went to the church and had district meeting which was good. I love elder pruner's district meetings. i learned a lot! I jsut don't have my thing that has my notes on it with me so i can't tell ya exactly what that was. the sisters brought a chocolate pit so we ate taht after district meeting. (Not as good as moms...:) ) haha but that was delicious then we got ready for english class and then went and visited our CU guy. We are just trying to keep him having a good view of us so that in the future when he is prepared to hear the gospel he'll be open to the missionaries. then we came home and had dinner and english class! That was awesome! We had a bunch of people and a new person there this week! So it was super fun!

Thursday was great too. We got up and had our studies which were really good. Then we had lunch and went out! It was pretty darn cold! No snow yet though! In fact it rained last night a tiny bit. anyway, we went to try to find less actives and that was fun. Talked to a few people too. But anyway, then since it was super cold we went onto the subway and tried to talk to people for a little bit. that was good. then we canme home and had dinner and then we had our lesson with 신재직. I love him. We asked him to read alma 32 and he asked us questions about it and we were able to answer them so he's doing really good. then we watched finding faith in christ which was okay. i thought it'd be a little more powerful than it was, but it was still good. he was like yeah this is good but like i already know all of this kind of a thing. but i liked it so hey it's cool. but yeah that's pretty much all we did with him! and then we came home!

Friday was kinda chill. Elder dayley was sick so we couldn't do too much. we had our studies which were good. then we had lunch and i made elder dayley sleep cuz he looked super super tired. haha so he slept and i called people for a little. then i woke him up and we had weekly planning. That was fun. Then after planning we went to 강남 gangnam! That was awesome. It's super nice. like you'd be surprised haha. i was impressed. i forgot my camera though...too bad. but we went there and had 12-week follow up with the zone leaders. that was awesome. Elder dayley taught really well! Then we went and got dinner and then we were going to visit our recent convert but sicne elder dayley wasnt' feeling too good we came home and he chilled and i called people again. haha so yeah pretty fun.

Saturday was good too. :) We had our studies and then we went to our weekly coordination meeting with kim seurgi our lovely ward missionleader. that was way fun. he brought us some type of corndog thing but it had sugar on it and was sweet. it actually was pretty good. :) haha so heck yeah then we came home and had lunch. Elder dayley fell asleep and was snoring super loud so i recorded it. :) I hope it gets up on dropbox. if so you gotta watch it. i'm trying to put it on. it was super super funny. you'll like it. then we went and bought cookies and went out to dinner. that was away good. then we went to a less actives house and dropped the cookes off and then tried to walk around and talk to people. that was super fun. but nothing really too crazy happened.

Sunday was classic. We got up and had personal study then went to the church where they put us to work. Turns out that the heaters need to have water put in the bottom of em? So like we did that basically until church started haha. then during church we got a new 선교책임자 or ward mission leader! That's crazy. The new guy is awesome. I love him. his name is 박순철 Park Soonchor. His kids all live in utah infact they go to orem high school haha. I really like him though. Anyway, so after church because of that we had a meeting with him then we came home and had companion and language study. I'm lovin language study lately. I've found a way good program for me. I think i learned like 200 words this week. pretty awesome! then we had dinner and then we went out and found a bunch of less actives moved! Haha it was great! There was an old lady who helped us. Haha she saw us look a little lost and was like hey who are you trying to find! And we were like just the guy who might live here. so she yelled up to the second floor and the guy said he didn't live there haha. it was pretty funny. On the way home we started talking to this guy and he was like hey you guys want bread? I'll buy you some bread! And we were just like um it's sunday but like if you insist i guess like we can't really do anything about it. so yeah then we were just like walking with im and there was a guy just sittin down in the middle of the sidewalk next to his bike who he started yelling at like hey get out of here! What's wrong with you? Here's two bucks go ride the bus or something! He was way rude haha but like anyway, he yelled at that guy and then we kept walking with him and he's like you know waht i'm gonna buy you some fruit instead. so he bought us some oranges. haha it was super weird....but yeah that was our weird story of the week! Well. Let me know if there's anything that i can do for you! I wanna help i jsut dont know how. plus i'm across the world...which is weird. but i love it. Asians are the best. I love korea. :) I hope you guys have a great week!

Our Adventure on Saturday

Our adventure on saturday. the gold building is the hanwha building that we can see from everywhere in our area. it's 63 stories high. well, 60 high and 3 down. :)
