MAY 24th, 2015

Haha so sorry I couldn't make it easier for you. Yeah our week last week was really good. This week was good too. The guy who came to church last week came yesterday and also to our ward party thing too! I'll try to be better at pictures. I took a decent amount this week. Well I tried. It's more than last week for sure. So that's good. :)

Monday - Package Ping Pong P-day
So after email last week we went to the office area which is like 45 minutes from us to pick up a package for Elder Coleman because it had stuff for his knee which has been botherin him. So that was good. Then we came straight back to the church and played ping pong for a while. That was super fun. Then we got dinner and called a bunch of people. Then we went and talked to people and had our weekly coorelation meeting cuz we couldn't do it on monday.

Tuesday - Exchange With Elder Meeks
So Tuesday was fun. We had our studies which were good. I am lovin the book of mormon lately. Like dang i really like it. :) We had lunch and then we talked about how things are going and what i can do to help him to be a better missionary. That was super good. Talked a lot about just bein a missionary and how awesome missions are. Then we went to the bus terminal in our area and tried talkin to people but we actually ran into these people who went to byu and were here to have a "korean" wedding. The guy is american and his wife is korean and they were married a year ago in america and now are here to have their traditional wedding. pretty cool. :) haha so that was crazy then we went and visited a bunch of people tryin to strengthen the faith! and then we came home and made calls. then we had dinner and went to 최명숙 Choi Myungsook's house and taught her about the plan of salvation. That was super good actually. I love teaching about the plan of salvation. And she gave us ice cream. :) pretty good. haha love her. anyway, then we came home!

Wednesday - District Meeting and English Class
So after our studies we went and we met a cute man lamed Mr. Lee. He's the cutest. He teaches english sometimes in seoul and loves to meet when he's here haha he's adorable. He is also beyond rich. He told us that his house is 1000평 which converts to about 12,000 square feet. which like wow even in america that's giant, but like for korea that's unheard of. And he has a yard. pretty dang aweosme. but we had lunch with him and taught him a little about the restoration and went to the church for district meeting. We talked about accountability so that was awesome of course. i thought it went well. then we went and visited some peeps and then called some poeple and then we had dinner and then we had english class which was actually really fun. A bunch of fun people came so that was cool. And yeah!

Thursday - Cool Kid and the Kerns
Okay so thursday was fun. After lunch we made a bunch of calls and then we went and met a super cool kid named 송재환 Song Jayhwan. he's way cool. haha he has super short hair which never happens in korea. Anyway, he lived in New Zealand for 2 years so he's somewhat okay at english. easier to talk in korean though. But yeah! We did some how to begin teaching stuff and then we taught him about the book of mormon. THat was really good! he said he'd come to church yesterday but he didn't....so that was disappointing but it's fine. hopefully this week. then we talked to some poeple and then we had dinner and then we went to the Kern's house and taught them a practice lesson. The Kerns are a new couple who moved into our ward. he works for samsung and his wife is workin on her dissertation. they got married like 4 months ago or so. so cool. He served his mission in our mission like 10 years ago so that's really cool. anyway, we taught em about the earth life and atonement. That went really really good! We actually taught them in english cuz she doesn't know korean and wanted her to be involved. but yeah. that was really good. Then we came home!

Friday - Weekly Planning and off to 영등포
So after we had lunch we had our awesome weekly planning which was good. Same as every week just like i said last week. but yeah it's fun. :) By the end of it it will have been 104 weekly plannings! haha so crazy. but anyway, then we went to 영등포 Youngdeungpo to get started with our exchange with the Zone Leaders. That was super fun. I was with Elder Stowe who was way fun. he's a great guy. he's from Riverton. If i can be like him by the end of my mission i'd be so happy. But anyway, we talked about our appointment we had and then we went to costco and had dinner. that wass super yummy. pizza baby. then we went and talked to people which was awesome. then we went and met a guy named 한증태 Han Jeungtay i think. if i remember right. Anyway, he was way cool. We got his religious background and that was basically all we were able to do. then we came home and made calls. classic

Saturday - Finished Exchange, English Class, and 유복준
The rest of our exchange was awesome. We had our studies then we had english class which was way fun. There's a super cool recent convert in Youngdeungpo's ward which i've told you about. i love him to death. his name is 오준형 Oh Joonhyung. He's studying to go to BYU right now. so we'll see if that happens. anyway, i basically just talked to him the whole time. then we went and got lunch and then we came back to seocho. Good to be back. Haha it's always weird to leave. But anyway, Then we met 유복준 or Daniel Yoo. He's the man. We talked to him about his background again. he basically just talked to us about how bad korean churches are. Found out that the church in our area 사랑의 교회 Church of Love or Sarang church or whatever it is in english cost 350 million dollars. so that was crazy. holy cow. then we went and got dinner with him then we made calls which was way fun and then we met Robert and helpped him sign up for BYU which is what we will be doing again tonight. We weren't able to finish it.

Sunday - Church and a nice meal
So yesterday was super good. We had our companion study to get ready for the day then we went to church and said hi to members ya know and we also made a bunch of calls to our investigators and stuff....then we had a meal after cuhrch which was okay. then we had our weekyl coorelation meeting which was super fun. then we came home adn studied so that was super good. Then we went to 최명숙's house. I put her name in english above before if you care. but anyway, we had a crzy good meal with her. It was a crazy course meal haha holy cow. like dang. then me and elder coleman shared a killer message about missionary work which i thought went really well! We talked all about how important the members are and if they don't help us out then nothing is ever gonna happen. but yeah. it's cool. then we came home!

Message - Humility
So I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Like what it means to be humble. And so I'll share this quote from PMG in chapter 6. by the way, i've told you this before, but even as normal members there's so much good stuff in there we should be studying it at least once a week as members if not everyday. in fact, study it every day. anyway, here's the quote. "Humility is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of spiritual strength. When you humbly trust Him and acknowledge His power and mercy, you can have the assurance that His commandments are for your good. You are confident that you can do whatever the Lord requires of you if you rely on Him. You are also willing to trust His chosen servants and follow their counsel. Humility will help you as you strive to be obedient, to work hard, and serve selflessly" So I have been thinking a lot lately about just trusting the lord and how important it is. To know that he's in charge and to try and have our will in line with His. To just always think what would Jesus do if he was in this situation kind of a thing. And I really like the last part. To serve others selflessly. We should always be trying to serve those around us. Especially those closest to us like our family. Always be trying to do good for them and help them when they need it. :) Love you guys so much! have a great week!

MAY 17, 2015

Monday - Call Day
So we got to call you and that was awesome. So good to see you guys. Dang i love and miss you. But after skype i think i told you the kitchen at the church flooded so we spent some time cleaning that up. that was fun haha. kinda stressful, but we got it under control. Then we came home and relaxed. I packed a ton of stuff and got a package ready to send home...still need to send that....oh well. haha anyway, after p-day we went and talked to people for a while and then we came home and made calls.

Tuesday - TIPoff and 이록
So tuesday was super fun. We had our studies then we went to 영등포 youngdeungpo to meet the zone leaders so we could do PMGTIP with them. I finished the 2nd lesson and stuff so that was good. Then we came home and had to help the sisters move all their stuff cuz the sisters in 서초 got shut down. So sad. So we helped them with that for a little bit and then we went and met 이록 Lee rok. he's the man. He's actually a recent convert in 화곡 Hwagok ward that i interviewed to be baptized. We ate mcdonalds with hima dn then we went to the church and taught him about enduring to the end. I thought that was really good. Super guided by the spirit and i could definitely feel the spirit there. so cool. :) We committed him to go to church this week cuz he said he hadn't been in like 2 months...so that's sad. but anyway, then we went to 어덕수 Oh ducksoo's house. and taught him about god which was aweosme. then we came home and called some more people.

Wednesday - Transfers and 양재
So Wednesday was a party. haha Elder Andersen left so that was beyond sad. I love that guy to death. Super awesome guy and missionary. But that was fun. Then we went down to 양재 Yangjae. It's a cool part of our area and like the furthest away. Anyway that was fun. we went down there to bring letters to members and stuff but like what i didn't realize is how far apart the members live....so that was too bad. it was way pretty. but we were able to do it and it took forever...but it's fine. Then we came back and looked for more places to do tae kwondo with Easun but President Morrise basically shut us down for doing it. but that's fine. Anyway, then we went ot the church and got ready for english calss and had dinner and then we had english class which was way good! so yeah!

Thursday - Wind Symphony and District Meeting
Thursday was good too. we got up and had our studies and then we went and got district lunch which is now the 4 elders so that was cool. Then we had district meeting which was on repentance and commitments. so that was good. Super good actually. then we went and visited some less actives and talked to some cool people and then we came home and had dinner and called people. That was good too. then we went to the seoul mission with Easun and 차성욱 because we got permission to go the the BYU wind symphony thing. That was so good! Haha the choir that was with em was eh, but they were really good! I was impressed. So that was super fun. Plus i got to see all my aweosme friends that were in the MTC with me. Holy cow i miss those guys so much. They're the best. Also, a less active sister that we invited came! It was such a party! haha i loved it! And Robert, a member sat with us too. so we had a party goin on. haha it was way fun. and then we came home!

Friday - Weekly Planning and 과천
So friday was cool. we got up and studied and then we had weekly planning and that was the same as the last 100 i've done haha then after that we went and got dinner and then visited less actives and then we went to a place called 과천 Gwachun which is actually out of our area but we had to visit someone there so we went! And that was awesome! Then we went to visit a few other less actives and on the way met some really cool people! So we have high hopes for finding new investigators this next week. but yeah!

Saturday - 유복준 and Robert
Saturday was cool. After our studies we went and had lunch and then we went and met Robert near his house at Mcdonalds. That was good. We talked with him about Christ and committed him to read the living christ. so good. i'd suggest reading or re reading that one if you haven't. but yeah then we came back and had english class which was fun. then we went and got dinner and then we met 유복준 Yoo bokjoon. or Daniel Yoo. and his wife. He is super awesome! He met with the missionaries a while ago and we ran into him last week! We basically just got to know him and his background...he's pretty dang rich. anyway, got his whole life story, taught a little and then gave him a family proclamation to read. that was aewsome! then we came home and made calls. those were good.

Sunday - Church, Less Active, Calls
So sunday was way good. We had comp study then we went to hurch and we met a guy we invited to church on the way. we told him to be there at 11:45 for sacrament but he showed up 2 and a half hours before he was supposed to be there. but that's fine! So he came to church with us. he's someone we met on the street this week. So that was a cool little miracle. Also, our ward mission leaders daughter came home from her mission this week in the seoul mission. she was a way good missionary! Like listening to her testimony i was just like dang i want to be you! haha anyway, but after church there was a meal and then we came home and studied but i spent a good amount of the time talkin to robert on the phone cuz he's going through a hard time right now. so that was fun. then we had dinner and then we went to look for less actives. that was a party. we have fun me and elder coleman. i really like him a lot. he's a great missionary. you can forward that part right to his parents if you'd like. ;) haha just kddin. anyway, then we came home and made some calls for this week to set it up.

Thought - Choose to Believe
So I read Elder Clayton's talk this week and wow it's so good. Just wanted to share one part. "Every day each of us faces a test. It is the test of our lifetimes: will we choose to believe in Him and allow the light of His gospel to grow within us, or will we refuse to believe and insist on traveling alone in the dark? The Savior provides His gospel as a light to guide those who choose to believe in and follow Him." Basically we have to choose everyday to do the things necessary to get closer to him. Read the scriptures and pray. I can't tell you how many investigators don't progress and how many people go less active simply because they stop those two things. so do em. every day. :)

Love
Elder Breinholt

PS. See you soon. :)

Then we came home! and that was our week!

Thought - Testimony of the Book of Mormon
So i recently finished the book of mormon and wanted to let you guys know that i know it's true. I restarted it this week and am already to 2 nephi 10. Haha i can't put it down. It's so good. :) Anyway, let's listen to a prophet bear his testimony on it. http://www.mormonchannel.org/watch/series/mormon-messages/testimony-of-the-book-of-mormon-2 I love that video so much. Always hits me so strong. The book of mormon is true. And any person who reads it and prays about it the way moroni describes will get that answer. So if you haven't done that, or if it's been a while since you have i would invite you to do so. To pray about it so you can regain the knowledge or gain that knowledge that it's true. :) Love you so much!

Love,
Elder Breinholt

You'll enjoy it. :) We taught him about the importance of the book of mormon and i made him promise me to read the intro which he still hasn't done. ah pain. but it's alright. then we made our way to the church and got ready for english class which was good. Mr So from noryangjeen came so that was a little stressful. I used to think that he was good at english then i came to seocho and now i see how bad he is haha it's kinda sad. but that's alright. anyway, then we met up with elder coleman and we got back together then we went home and had dinner and then we went and visited less actives again. that was good! Then we visited 어덕수 Oh Ducksoo who is a non member. we are trying to spark some interest in him. i hope he pulls through. anyway, we shared a good scripture with him and then we came home.

Yesterday was so good! We had companion study then we went to the church and greeted some of the members on their way in. 어덕수 the part member family guy, he came to church yesterday! That was super awesome! I think he liked it. We'll see when we visit him this week. :) haha but anyway, we called this guy who's been wanting to come and he said he'd be there at 11:45 so we leave like halfway through church to meet him at the bottom of the hill that our church is on, and then he's like oh i'll be like a half hour late, so we go back to the church and the second we get back he's like i'm here! Where are you? And so we had to go back and pick him up haha it was stressful. but it's fine. i was dyin of heat at the end. it was fun. :) but he came! And that's all that really matters. :) haha and it was ward conference so there were tons of people there! That was way good. :) Then we had a meal after church and that was way good. Loved it. Then we had our weekly coorleation meeting with the man 최영규. I love him so much. Then we went home and studied and had dinner and then we mad tons of calls for this week! Still have more to make though! Haha but yeah, a pretty good week. :)

Thought - Missions
This morning I read again the talk "The Miracle of a Mission" by Jeffery R. Holland and wow it was good. I don't really want to quote anything from it, but i just want to tell you guys how much missions change lives. Like it's taken me a while but i'm finally realizing how much I've changed over the last two years. For the better of course. :) But I can honestly say that I've loved every day of my mission. And it means more to me than anything else. No way I'd rather be doing anything else and I know that anyone who goes on a mission will be happier during these two years or 1 and a half years than any other time. and that is simply because you're doing the work of the lord and he watches over us. I love it so much. And I love you so much. Have a great week. :)

Love,
